Below are a few examples of select publications and projects that I have worked on.
SELECT PROJECTS
Cisco Digital Readiness Index (DRI): DRI is a holistic statistical model that measure seven unique components, ranging from basic needs to technology infrastructure. I was responsible for all facets of the DRI, including methodology, metric selection, data collection, analysis, and deliverables. This includes two iterations of the Global DRI (2019, 2021), two iterations of the Australia DRI (2020, 2022), and the first iteration of the Canada DRI (forthcoming 2023).
Cisco Foundation Social Impact Measurement: Co-led the internal social impact evaluation and assurance of NGO partners (grantees) funded by the Cisco Foundation as part of Cisco's goal to positively impact 1 billion people worldwide. I was responsible for internally auditing the Foundation's grantees to verify social impact claims, and working with third party auditing firms (PwC) for external assurance.
UN OCHA Afghanistan NGO Dataset: Collected data on the provincial locations and sectors of activity of 891 international and local (Afghan) NGOs that operated in Afghanistan between 2000 and 2014. UN OCHA hosts the data on HDX. I also published an analysis of the data in a peer-reviewed journal (linked below).
USIP SENSE Expansion: USIP's Strategic Economic Needs & Security Exercise (SENSE) is a computer-facilitated resource allocation simulation program developed by the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA), focusing on negotiations and decision-making challenges within national and international post-conflict environments. In addition to training and mentoring personnel participating in the simulation exercise, I collaborated with IDA personnel to significantly expand SENSE capabilities to include and address challenges directly relevant to Afghanistan.
